It is now official: As of this year, the MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory is one of the 50 fastest-growing medium-sized companies in Bavaria. In recent years, the company has been able to increase its sales and the number of its employees at an above-average rate. In recognition of this achievement, MLL was awarded the BAVARIA'S BEST 50 prize by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (STMWI) and the Deputy Bavarian Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger.
For the 19th time, the STMWI honors the strongest growing companies in Bavaria that identify new opportunities for growth and employment and consistently implement and exploit them. The prize winners will be supported by Baker Tilly GmbH & Co. KG as an independent juror according to objective criteria. "With this award, we want to use the publicity to pay tribute to examples of positive entrepreneurship. The award-winning companies are role models for the entire Bavarian economy", Hubert Aiwanger explained. Even though the effects of the Corona pandemic are currently putting Bavarian industry to the test, the flexibility, resilience and substance of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular are making a major contribution to overcoming the crisis together.
15 years ago, Prof. Dr. Claudia Haferlach, Prof. Dr. Dr. Torsten Haferlach and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kern founded the MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory as a nationally and internationally operating laboratory for the diagnostics of leukemia and lymphoma based in Munich-Großhadern, at that time with 29 employees. Since then the number of employees has increased sevenfold. Every day, the team of hematologists, biologists and MTLAs works and researches to advance leukemia diagnostics in such a way that the best therapy can be offered to patients worldwide.
