MLL Sample Transport Service
Welcome to the Sample Transport Service page of the MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory. Here you will find all the relevant information you need for the transportation of your patients' samples by courier service. Together we want to ensure the fastest possible diagnosis of leukemia and other hematological neoplasms. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Together with our service partner Gold Key Services (GKS), we have developed a concept that allows your samples to be delivered to us overnight. Below you will find all the important information and the opportunity to register for an initial consultation with us.
Your onboarding process
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to use the Courier Service. Below is a step-by-step guide to the entire onboarding process.
- MLL will contact you to conduct the initial meeting and onboarding of your facility. We will determine together with you whether regular collection, active notification of collection via a courier button or a mixed form (e.g. regular collection every Tuesday and notification of an additional collection if required) meets your needs best. Please prepare the following information for this initial meeting:
- Medical practice Name
- Contact person
- Adress
- Opening hours / preferred collection period (also for on-demand collections)
- Email address
- Contact phone number/extension for urgent arrangements (should be available after office hours)
- any special conditions that the courier should take into account for collections (e.g. separate entrance, floor, etc.)
- After onboarding, the courier button will be delivered to you by our partner Gold Key Services (GKS). If you have not ordered a button, your regular courier service will start at the time specified during your phone call - you do not need to do anything else.
- Once you have received the button, please contact GKS by phone to make a test booking and complete your onboarding.
Registration Request
After we receive your request, we will contact you for your onboarding. Please provide one or two possible times during which we can reach you for the 15-minute onboarding meeting.
Information to book your courier service at the touch of a button
Together with on of our employees, you have determined the possible sample collection time slots for your facility. To schedule a courier to collect your samples, please refer to the timeline below. The collection must always be ordered at least three hours prior to the start of the collection period. No courier button notification is required for weekdays on which a regular collection is scheduled.
To initiate the booking of the service with the button, press it twice and wait for the data to be transmitted. The display of the button will go through the screens shown below. As soon as “Danke! Abholung wurde beauftragt” is displayed, your booking has been received and you will receive a confirmation e-mail. This summarizes your order, including the pick-up period, and is for your information only. You do not need to reply to this email.
Example: Afternoon Collection Period
If you need a same-day pick-up, you must place the order using the courier button at least three hours before the start of the collection period (red arrow).
For example, if you have specified a pick-up time slot (red) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, you must complete your booking no later than 12:00pm in the morning (three hours before the pick-up time slot begins).
In this case, if you press the courier button after 12pm, a booking will automatically be triggered for the collection period of the next possible day.
Example: Morning Collection Period
If you have specified a collection period (red) from 9:00am to 12:00 noon, for example, you must also complete your booking at least three hours before the start of the pick-up time slot, in this case 6:00 am. Thus, in this case, it is best to initiate the service the day before.
If you press the courier button after 6:00am, a booking for the next possible collection period will be automatically triggered.

Once your onboarding is complete, you will also have access to your account on myGKS.de. Here you can also view and manage your past and upcoming collections and book additional collections. However, our service is also available without the use of the portal.
